5. Where do you live? City or State please

6. Your occupation or if you are retired, what was your occupation?
I am retired from full time working. I sing and do some computer
bookkeeping projects from time to time. I was a corporate trainer
conducting training programs related to: management, communications,
problem solving, hiring, and often wrote training programs for
small to mid size corporation that did not have their own HR
departments. I was also the project manager of a large research
project at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City,
Kansas.
7. If you are retired, what are you doing now?
I continued to be active in music as a vocalist. Member of Texas
Masters Chorale, my church choir and sing at several restaurants
in the Conroe / Houston area. Recently did a "concert" of all
Civil War music as a fundraiser and a concert series event in
Crocket, Tex. I try to complete a few writing projects that I
finally have time to do.
8. Your hobbies and/or pastimes.
Dancing - never learned to dance until I was 50. Then got "hooked"
and actually did some competitive dance a few years back I hope
to continue dancing in the near future - I have had two knee
replacements this year - still working on my "come back."
Getting old is heck!!
9. How many children do you have and where do they live?
I have two daughters. Cheryl lives here in Conroe with her
husband Jody. Cheryl is director of nursing at Conroe Regional
Hospital. Janet lives in Fredericksburg with her husband Jimmy.
She is in administration and teaching at private school there.
10. How many grandchildren do you have?
I have four grandchildren as each of my daughters have a son
and daughter. Jennifer graduated from Baylor and lives/works
in The Woodlands. She is getting married August, 2007. Ashley
graduated from Baylor and now lives in Houston. She works for
a PR firm and is getting married July, 2007. Ryan is a senior
at A & M and graduated in May. He has a great job waiting for
him in finance. (also has a 2 handicap) Matthew is a freshman
at A & M. He is great at baseball and golf. He is completing a
summer internship with Youn Life.
11. Did you hold an office while in high school, participate
in sports, the band, the Hussars, etc.?
My main activity was music in choirs, etc. Went to All State
Choir my senior year. Choir director was Robert Jordahl and
he was great. Some of the vocal techniques I continue to use
I learned from him.
12. What were your aspirations when you were in high school?
To get married and have children. That's all I thought I was
supposed to do. I was madly in love with David Hall and
being with him was all I wanted then. Little did I know that
I would want so much more as time went on.
13. Did you accomplish most of the goals you set for yourself
back then or did you alter your direction?
Well, I did get married (I was 17 and David was 19) and a few
years later we did have our daughters. David was a minister
at that time (and often stopped being a minister and worked
in other jobs and then went back into ministry) and we moved
26 times in 23 years. I finally could not "follow" him any more
and we separated and divorced after 24 years.
By the time of our divorce I had started my own business of
training and consulting. When I no longer wanted to be sole
proprietor I went to Kansas City to manage their research
project. When that ended I returned to Houston and became
manager of the law division of American General Life Ins.
Through all of these years I have remained very active in
churches as teacher or musician, etc.
I am no longer married.
14. What was your favorite song during your high school days?
Mine and David's song was "Tammy's in Love" from movie "Tammy"
Can you tell we were love struck.
15. What was your favorite movie back then?
Tammy and the Bachelor
The Ten Commandments
16. What were your favorite hangouts? i.e. The Beehive, the
movies, the drive in, Pleasure Pier, etc.
We often did the "drag" in the downtown area and most nights
went to Pleasure Pier to ride the ferris wheel. Can't remember
the name of the drive-in where we got corny dogs and root
beer floats.
(Webmaster note: Could this have have been Skips Drive-In?)
17. Do you have photos of any of these events?
(No response to this question.)
18. What was your favorite subject in high school and why?
Did not have many favorites...other than choir. For some
reason I had such low self esteem and bad health that school
was not much fun. That's sad, but I tried to make up for
it later.
19. Who was your favorite teacher or was there a teacher who
inspired you?
Other than Robert Jordahl in choir at TJ, my most favorite
teacher was 8th grade math at Woodrow Wilson Jr. High,
Ms. McMillan she had a way of making us believe we could
learn anything, and many times encouraged us to not be
ashamed to ask questions.
20. What was your most embarrassing moment or your worst
nightmare during high school years?
(1) The school counselor talked with all (most) seniors
for a brief session concerning future education and
professions. During the time I was with her (can't remember
her name) her advice was: because you have had health
problems, don't set goals very high for yourself...no
college and plan on a simple job like arranging flowers.
What a downer!!!!
(Webmaster note: Many people thought Albert Einstein
was dumb. Who is the most ignorant? Sometimes the
advisers.)
(2) I was singing for some assembly at TJ and a fly flew
into my mouth as I took in a big breath. I chocked on it.
21. Where did you meet your mate if you are married?
(not necessary to include previous mates if you are
divorced or separated)
Met David Hall through my brother Bill. He knew David
and one night Bill and David were going to church and
Bill asked me to go along. When we picked up David...
my brother conveniently had us sit together. A funny
thing happened soon after. David and I had not gone on
a date yet and one evening while I was taking a bath the
phone rang. I instantly thought that it would be David
and he would be asking me for a date...and I would always
remember that he called for our first date while I was
in the bath tub. My mother answered the phone and it was
David and he did ask me for our first date.
22. Do you know of any classmates who are deceased? If so,
please relay the information so it can be added to a memorial
page.
None - I was amazed to see how many were deceased when
I first found this web site.
23. What are your favorite websites. Please list no more than
three and please no “Adult” sites.
Fox News
A & M sport scores
24. If you could change history, what would you do differently
if anything at all? Keep it brief and you do not have to share,
you don’t have to have anything you would do differently either.
Definitely would not marry at such a young age. Would have
focused on my education sooner (I put David though college and
seminary first) Also, I was invited to be a part of the Billy
Graham crusades preparation team and I declined. It would
require a lot of travel and my daughters were at an age that
I needed to be at home with them. Always wished that there would
have been a way to do it.
25. If you could go anywhere in the world and be any thing you
wanted to be at this stage of the game, where would you go and
what would you do and why?
At this age???
I have traveled enough to know that there is no place better
than our country. It is beautiful in many, many ways. I would
still love to travel (mostly by car) and see places I have not
seen and go back to a few places that I fell in love with...
Ie: Ashland, Oregon; Crater Lake in Oregon; The Sawtooth Mountains
on the border of Wyoming and Montana; The Chetagwa Institute,
near Jamestown; New York....etc, etc
26. If you could go back to our high school days, which year
would you go back to and why? Considering our high school days
were 1954 to 1958 including Woodrow Wilson Jr. High years.
Probably the ninth grade at Woodrow Wilson.
27. Is there anything in particular you would like to see on
this website?
You have done a great job with this website. Thanks for doing
it. Guess I wish there were some coverage of musical events
like there are Hussars.
28. Do you have any photos of yourself then and now? If you don’t
know how to scan or don’t have a scanner, would you be willing to
send copies of the photos so I can scan them for use in the website?
Will send some as I can locate them
29. How computer literate are you? Do you need help with any of
this computer stuff? I won’t mind helping. I give a simple step-
by-step list of how to. I'm not talking instructions, just help
if needed.
I have depended on PCs for many years both in professional and
personal use. Thanks for your sweet offer to help.
30. Three part question: your favorite color, favorite number, and
your favorite movie of all time.
Favorite color Peach/Rose
Favorite number 4
Favorite movie An American President
