None

plattj at mtmission.org This is both my home as I live as house parent
to 26 teenage boys(WHAT FUN!) and work address!

her husband retired from this position and moved to their own home.)
5. Where do you live? City and State please
Grundy, Va.- the Southwest corner of Virgina in the mountains (near
Tenn., Kentucy and West Va.)
6. Your occupation or if you are retired, what was your occupation?
still teaching but for the 10 years that Paul was principal of
Mountain Mission School I was the Food Service Director cooking 2 meals
a day for the 350 of us that live on the campus full time
7. If you are retired, what are you doing now?
(I am going to do a search for Jennilou and her husband. They may
be retired now.)
8. Your hobbies and/or pastimes.
enjoy birds, flowers, the piano and reading
9. How many children do you have and where do they live?

2 grandaughters and 2 grandsons
11. Did you hold an office while in high school, participate
in sports, the band, the Hussars, etc.?
no offices. the Maroon and Gold Band, playing the French Horn and
driving Mr. Badgett crazy!
(Jennilou accompanied me on the piano for the D.E. Banquet. She also
plays the piano.)
12. What were your aspirations when you were in high school?
I thought that I would be a nurse.
13. Did you accomplish most of the goals you set for yourself
back then or did you alter your direction?
A total change of direction after attending and graduating from
Dallas Christian College in 1962 and began teaching at the Mountain
Mission School, a children's home for about 250 kids

I only remember the strange ones like Purple People Eater, Rock
Around the Clock, Monster Mash

16. What were your favorite hangouts? i.e. The Beehive, the
movies, the drive in, Pleasure Pier, etc.

Latin and English
19. Who was your favorite teacher or was there a teacher who
inspired you?
Miss Smyth, the Latin teacher with JCL and 3 years of Latin

nightmare during high school years?
Mr. Badgett and I didn't always see eye to eye!
21. Where did you meet your mate if you are married?

met Paul in college; taught school for 2 yearsand returned to Dallas
and got married in 1964 still married all these many years later....
he is a teacher and minister

24. If you could change history, what would you do differently
if anything at all? Keep it brief and you do not have to share,

world peace and have all the children of this world (no matter what
age they might be) to accept Jesus Christ as their personal Savior
25. If you could go anywhere in the world and be any thing you
wanted to be at this stage of the game, where would you go and
what would you do and why?

26. If you could go back to our high school days, which year
would you go back to and why? Considering our high school days
were 1954 to 1958 including Woodrow Wilson Jr. High years.

28. Do you have any photos of yourself then and now? If you don’t
know how to scan or don’t have a scanner, would you be willing to
send copies of the photos so I can scan them for use in the website?
I would send copies through the mail to you.... maybe my son could
scan this summer as he is computer expert with the Toyota Company in Cinn
29. How computer literate are you? Do you need help with any of
this computer stuff? I won’t mind helping. I give a simple step-
by-step list of how to. I'm not talking instructions, just help
if needed.
